The Black and Gold collection
The 'Black and Gold' pieces are a re-imagining of the historical and mythological carvings. They're created in specialised black clay and then a lot of time is spent removing all the background to leave only the detailed design remaining. After firing each piece is finished with gold highlights.
The whole process is fairly laborious, but I think the results are worth it.
